I received a press sample of Dermablend Mineral Finishing Powder in Amber. Normally I can't go near any mineral products. In the paste I've broken out almost instantly, so I approached this product with extreme caution. First I did the typical patch tests on the inside of my arms where people wouldn't notice and after about 48 hours of trial runs I was ready to use this all over my face.
This product comes in two variations: Dusk: Suitable for fair to medium skin tones and Amber: Suitable for medium to deep skin tones. I'm glad I received the amber version so I'll get more use out of the product, since I tend to get darker in tone as the weather warms up.
This finishing powder serves multiple purposes. Not only does it reduce the appearance of redness and rosacea, it also conceals uneven skin tone and minor acne scars. It even controls excess shine and absorbs oil, a major bonus for someone with combination skin like myself. The product also minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and pores. It's perfectly suitable for senstive and allergic skin all while being oil free. :)
There are also a variety of uses for the Smooth Indulgence Mineral Finishing Powder. You can be use it like any other finishing powder over foundation to anchor down your look giving it real lasting power; you can use it alone for light coverage and a healthy glow; or it can be used for highlighting areas of the face and neck.
I have been using this over my foundation with great results, the Amber color gives my foundation a slight kick. I have this really healthy glow. Similar to a bronzer but not as glittery looking its a warm glow that looks like it's coming from within instead of a powder on the face.
I tried to take several photos of me wearing the product but I think my lighting is all jacked up. I did a half face and the picture didn't really pick up on the difference, but if you looked at me in real life you could tell instantly. I have to read the manual that comes with that camera I swear something is totally going over my head. Either that or I need to cough it up and get a macro lens like yesterday.
