So I received a press release showcasing Paul & Joe Beauté new spring 2014 collection. My eyes were immediately drawn to their new blushes. The packaging is all that and the colors look universal.

From left to right we have: Dahlia: a coral orange.; Azalea: a brilliant pink and Amaryllis: a radiant red.

As luck would have it the generous people at Paul and Joe Beauté were kind enough to send me Amaryllis for my testing pleasure. I immediately started drooling I have never tried a red blush but I do love horses! :) I always believed a red blush would be to harsh looking on my warm skin tone. One thing I have learned since starting this blog is you never know until you try, so thank you to the people over and Paul and Joe Beauté for opening my eyes to a new color I wouldn't have otherwise tried.

Once I received the product you can imagine my complete and utter joy at the opportunity to get this blush under my macro lens.  The details on the powder are stunning and you know how into details (and packaging) I am. I couldn't wait to see those flowers up close.

The entire collection is Parisian inspired and the attention to detail here is just sick.  Here is close up of the powder:

I cannot get over how gorgeous the pattern on the blush is. It is so beautiful you do not want to use it. Which leads me to the only issue I have with this product, that gorgeous white pattern fades with use. I'm trying my best to stay one side so I am able to save some of the pattern. This what I mean by fading:

Some people are looking at this color and freaking out please don't. The color looks really bold in the packaging but I promise you it is more subtle than you think. Amaryllis give you the ability to build up the red to a gorgeous flush of color that has a bit of shimmer and gives you a very healthy and sexy glow.

I loved this color so much I ordered the other two and two lipsticks from the spring 2014 collection. The color of Amaryllis is fabulous and works on the majority of skin tones. If you've been looking for a red blush that isn't overpowering and has the ability to build up in opaqueness I absolutely suggesting check out Paul and Joe Beauté Amaryllis.

What do you think of red blushes?
