Reader Question: How did you keep your blonde hair looking healthy? My newly blonde locks are changing colors and I think it's due to my the shampoo/conditioner I'm using...What do you suggest please help me. - Amanda @Spokane, Washington

Amanda I had the same issue before going ombré, blonde locks require a lot of maintenance and care. Using the wrong haircare can cause serious damage and leave your once lovely haircolor looking horrendous, having you wish you stayed brunette.

I was fortunate enough to get press samples of TouchBack Plus Shampoo and Conditioner ($29.95 each) I konw the price tag is hefty but trust me it's well worth. This is a great haircare set that works wonders on colored hair. They provide mega-watt shine, and contain no silicone. Products that contain silicone are very heavy and give hair a dull blurred appearance over time. Think of it as putting a piece of tap over your strands, the first time it looks shiny but keep applying that tape. After awhile there is no more shine just a blurred mess.

The shampoo/conditioner deliver results that are similar to a salon glaze for a fraction of the cost. These products penetrate the hair follicle to deposit some color back into your hair while adding depth, richness and delivering glossy shine. If your not too into the color deposit because you just colored your hair blonde you can opt for the Clear TouchBlack Plus to get the high shine without depositing color.  I used Golden Blonde on my hair because it was the closest to my color at the time.

The shampoo is foam it's not a real sudsy lather shampoo. Even without all the suds you can feel how clean your hair is. The conditioner really pentrates into the hair shaft giving you really gorgeous healthy shiny hair. With Golden Blonde there wasn't much of a color deposit since it was the closest to my color but it did extend the time between colorings, saving me money in the long run.
