As part of the Influenster team I was lucky enough to receive the VEETeasywax VoxBox. The Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-on Kit comes in two sizes one for the legs/body, and the other for the bikini/underarm.  I received the leg/body kit.

I am of a very hairy tribe so any type of ripping out of hair freaks me out, but I'm also extremely curious so I was very interested in trying this out. I have to shave every other day there are no questions about that in the summer sometimes I have to pass the razor on the daily. So the chance to shave less frequently is a dream come true. On the flip side at home wax kits scare me. I am not the most coordinated person in the world and when I was offered the chance to try out the kit it just seemed like a terrifying mess.

When I received the kit I was completely surprised the applicator and wax cartridge are not what I expected. Everything is compact and neat.

Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-on Kit - $29.97

Inside the box you will find:

  • a self heating device with cap
  • 50ml roll on wax refill (you can buy refills at any time)
  • 12 non-woven strips
  • perfect finish wipes
  • a base to hold the device
  • an electrical cable
  • full instructions
Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-on Kit - $29.97

To use you just click the cartridge into the base plug in the electrical cable into the wall, wait about 20 minutes to a half hour then simply roll the applicator head down the desired area in the direction of the hair growth. I'll use my cave man arms as an example you would start applying the wax at the elbow and bringing it down to the wrist. Once the area is covered with a thin layer of wax you apply the non-woven strip to the area. You press down firmly on the strip and give it a few good rubs then in a very quick motion yank the strip from the area going in the opposite direction of the hair growth. For example you grab the strip at the wrist and yank back.

I'm not going to lie to you it's painful and shocking. It's really hard to yank your own wax strips. Your nerves play a huge part. The first time I tried to rip off the strip I freaked and only pulled the strip half way off leaving that sucker hanging. The best thing about this kit is that you do it at home, no pretending you do this all the time and your the wax masta. You can whimper and curse, take a break, have some wine and start again later. I love that.

Once your done waxing the desired area you use one of the perfect finish wipes and remove any excess wax. I like to add some aloe vera gel afterwards, I always keep a bottle in the fridge. It works wonders after waxing.

Overall it wasn't a horrid experience and I do  love how soft my legs are. The regrowth isn't as bad as shaving and I'm at a week an still full on chewbacca legs, I do have some stubble but nothing that should be deemed illegal but the bare leg police. I will definitely use this product again.

Have you guys tried any Veet at home waxing kits? What is your horror story?
