Recently a reader asked me to recommend an affordable palette she can use to create a smokey eye look for herself and some friends. I've reviewed many palettes here but only one brand comes to mind as both affordable and great quality.

Now the palette consists of five colors and a brush/sponge combo. This is absolutely everything you need to create a gorgeous smokey eye when going out on the town. The colors are highly pigmented and very blendable.
I took some closeups but upon further inspection they aren't as gorgeous as they should be so I will be taking new photos this weekend, and since I will be swatching the palette again I think I shall create a look.
